Poet for the Month - JULY 2008

For us Americans this is the month of celebration of our Independence. So for our Poet this month we bring a lady who has gained her own independence. It is a month for Celebrating Summer, Fireworks and Picnics!! Come join our Celebration with this lady of beautiful words!!

This dear Lady needs little introduction as she is so popular and well known here in Adlandpro. Her support of forums and people has become a great asset. Her own forum offers a diversity of topics.

She comes to us from Belgrade, Serbia

Thanks for paying attention on one affinity of my soul – to be sensitive and confidential to pictures and sounds that may be expressed by words.

For me, poetry always was a majestic bridge between Physics and Metaphysics. (Or : between Paintings {Physics} and Musics {Metaphysics} )

While Physics teaches us that ETERNITY means FOREVER, Metaphysics insists that ETERNITY is a synonym for OUT OF TIME ...

For human beings – predestined to be aware of anything – using our physical and nonphysical senses, POETRY is a tool or BRIDGE to pass with over a terrific battle between many hypothesis-pretending-to-be-everlasting-truth.

Because of that, Poetry never discusses if something may be considered as truth.

It doesn`t judge anyone and it appreciates all.

So, it must be The Truth itself, or... ?

Sara, thanks for creating this so valuable forum . I am very grateful for this feature, and it makes me too excited to be able to express.

I write poetry from my early ages.... surely from my 6th-7th year. My poetry, as my essays, were published at Serbian and Croatian Magazines for Art.

But in English, due so well known reasons .... :) ....

My attempts to write poetry in English look like:

Triptych

ON MY JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND

ON MY JOURNEY TO THE

PROMISED LAND,

PASSING EACH, NEVER SEEN MEADOW,

MY STUBBORNESS USED TO BE SCANT.

I WAS CAPTURED BY MY OWN SHADOW.

SO DEEPROOTHED IN MY SENSES

AND IN MY ALWAYS BUSY THOUGHTS,

IT HAS BROKEN ALL THE RULES OF GAME.

MY OWN SHADOW HAS DONE A LOTS,

BUT NEVER STOPPED TO LAY ON ME THE BLAME.

IT WAS DILLIGENT EVEN DURING NIGHT,

BUT WHO COULD EVER SEEN A SHADY GAME -

THAN CREATED BY LIGHT?

AND WITH THIS ONE WAS ALL THE SAME :

IT USED TO STEAL THE LIGHT FROM MY INNER FLAME.

BURNING MY CHESTS,

BURNING MY MAP,

LAUGHING AT MY BLEEDING KNEES,

WHILE I WAS SITTING IN MY ANGEL`S LAP -

THE SHADOW WAS LORD OF MY MEMORIES.

KEEPENG ME REMINDED

OF YESTERDAY AND OF TOMORROW,

WASTING THIS WAY ALL AND ALL OF ME ....

THAT WAS IT - WHEN I HAVE CRIED IN A SORROW,

THAT WAS IT - WHEN I USED TO COURSE MY DESTINY!

BUT NOW – HERE I AM !!!!!

SO GREAT, SO DEAR AND INCREDIBLE ONE !!!!

DANCING FREE OF ANY KIND OF JAM,

LOVING AND BEING LOVE,

JUST LOVING AND BEING LOVE ...........

I HAVE FOUND MY PROMISED LAND!

ALL WHAT IS WITHIN AND ALL AROUND IT

PULSATE IN A GOLDEN RAY HARMONY.

TO EXPLORE IT, I DON`T NEED TO PROWL THE SPACE,

NOT TO SKIP THE RUSH, NOR CACOPHONY....

ALL IS ALIGNED, ALL SO ATTUNED!

AND THE MEANING OF "I AM" JUST IS TO BE AWARE!

THIS BEAUTY IS NOT TO BE STUNED,

IT IS NOT TO FEEL DARE.

IT IS THE CORE OF THE ESSENCE IN IT`S STRIKING PRESENCE.

AND HERE I HAVE MADE MY OWN NEST,

WITH ENOUGH SPACE FOR ALL THAT MAY POP IN -

INTENTIONALLY, OCASIONALLY – EACH WILL FIND THE BEST,

RELEASING HABITUAL PATTERNS, DISBANDING FROM DESTINY;

FREEDOM IS TO BE FREE, WHILE SLAVES LIVE UNDER DESTINY.

THIS JOURNEY IS SO EASY TO START.

FOLLOW YOUR LONELINESS AND LET IT BE YOUR GUIDE ,

WITHOUT RESISTANCE FROM MEMORIES TO BE APART.

FONDLING YOUR AMAZING PEEL, LOVE YOURSELF AND JUST FEEL:

LIFE WAS NOT CREATED JUST TO DIE. I AM LIFE AND I AM I!

Dear Sara,

It has been so long time from my last visit to your forum. I was so brief everywhere and really couldn`t find time to come to Adland, just because I cann`t stay here for a while. This amazing place has it`s so special magnetism. Hours here go so fast.

I hope you and your dear Hubby have a great time. Mother told me that you have had a special family event. Congratulations to your son and his dear one!

Thanks for this recognition for my dearest poet. She makes poetry in all what she is doing : cooking, loving, upbringing, smiling, crying, being angry.

If I were born to be poet, I could wish to write even one single poem, ABOUT MY MOTHER`S ANGER.

It is a way too funny.

If anyone can imagine sun to be angry - that`s how she looks like :) in those moments.

I am not too close to poetry, but living together, we have learned to "endure" and support all our differences. Sometimes they are really appreciated, and in other times we make .... things just to be not too much hard and unpleasant for another one.

I like to shorten all my expressions and this kind of language is unpleasant for my poetic Mom. But this helps her to make some precious exercises for her eyes and because of my language, she will never have wrinkles around them. Her eyes are big and after some my usual words ... moving them up, down and all around the globe :) she becomes always younger and younger.

Mom ... your poems are great, specially second. The whole first poem, with so many insights and words, may also be expressed with second. One is happy finding pears (my warm greetings to him!!!!) and another is happy to have something with what can spoil loved one.

Promised Land must be a place of happiness. That`s how I understand all this.

I wish to kiss, hug and say HELLO to Adelina and all others. I wish all of you can just imagine how important and dear and so missing ones you are to me!

Must run off now, with hope to be back as soon as possible.

Luka, how special that you write these things about your wonderful Mother. One can just see those flashing eyes and it is hard to imagine the sun being angry! Me thinks, dear son, that you do have some poetic words in there and someday they just may come together.

Branka, is a very special person and I love animated people who express themselves openly. There are so many unemotional people and you just really never know what they may be thinking - it is always nice not to have to guess.

Please come as often as you can to visit forum and at least support Mother for this month.

Hi Sara and all poetry lovers!

Something very funny is going with me. I wrote rhymes so very seldom ... and from yesterday, I AM SPEAKING IN RHYMES!!!! People are rolling of the laughter! I cann`t stop! It is not intentionally and really I need some help :) ...

Here is one new poem, written last night.

Today so busy I am and will be back later .

Ballad About Horsie and Birdie

If Birdie wasn`t

winged and free,

how could they ever met

in whole greatness of Galaxy?

If Horsie wasn`t an actor

in Birdie`s Dream,

a Daydreamer - why should He be,

Being never drowsy in any treat?

Working so hard and feeling great pride,

Horsie has generously invited Her to ride.

But Birdie was a sort of skyholders,

and let me explain:

riding was not only she wanted to gain.

She has fallen so deeeep in love, loving all of Her

picture of Him:

his amazing ears and one special place

between his left eye and nose,

and all that was so irresistible, so cool ...

Simply, Horsie has had a great pull !

One day, riding so passionate,

enabling Him to touch the sky,

Birdie has announced : she will teach Him to fly.

Horsie was astonished and couldn`t wait for that.

So profound all his life

was His eagerness to retrieve his wings!

(An Earth once was Horsie`s Kingdom,

but today: who remember those Kings?)

"Ah, flying again! Ah, flying on my own way!"

He was jumping of joy, promising Himself:

"This Dream no one shall destroy!"

Before He met His little Bird,

During cold winters, gazing through his spare time,

Horsie ate the silage - dreaming of green grass,

and watching through the window at one single dove,

he was dreaming about one horsie mate -

hovering near a dreaming state.

Just hovering ... that`s all he had experienced before!

But now, this Birdie will teach Him to fly!

Oh Goodness! From happiness He can cry!

"Dearest Birdie, how can I resist???"

And Birdie seemed so shy : "OF COURSE, I won`t insist ....

But if you are ready steady,

I`ll do the best of mine :

I will manifest you the Wings,

a Golden Wings for you to fly."

What has said – she started to accomplish.

All other flying species were jealous and tried,

but couldn`t demolish

all what was done with so much love.

Birdie was diligent, happy and

put in work all her passion,

love so warm and true admiration,

fondling, in her vision, Her Beloved One ...

The days – those intestines of time,

were passing over and between them.

One day , Horsie has found Himself on the lam.

HOW CAN I ? Wait!!! WAIT!

Oh Man !!!!

Why have I done that?

Wings I do need not to work on the land!

Soils know my steps so very good....

Hmmm ... And Birdie ? Ah, Birdie ...

(Invisible warm waters started warming his chests)

Surely, Birdie will find her nest,

and won`t suffer for this loss.

I would like to live as a winged,

but I owe loyality to my own Boss!!!

All those years he feeds me up and takes care of me,

while Birdie already lived as a free.

How can she understand me;

responsability - what does really mean?

What can I do?

Well, I`ll stay here, but will try to fly too.

.........

Birdie has had no one single doubt.

She has learned patience,

first suffering due it, then just noticed

all His negligence,

discovering each moment one new space

and segment of Truth beside.

Birdie kept this silently, so seldom she has cried.

......

At once I could realize

their game started boring me.

I just wished to use imagination

to finish this Ballad.

Birdie doesn`t fly around so much.

Again left alone,

she confessed me: Horsie was beging Her

to stay in touch,

and when She did her come back,

another tie was on His neck.

I must admit : I don`t understand.

My awareness is still so low.

I cann`t give her any advise.

Just comment:

each experience has it`s price.

......

If I were Birdie, I should give up,

never thinking of Him.

But Birdie intended to reach acme,

staying to Herself so cleave!

......

She is looking at my eyes,

so wise, so heartfelt and wise,

mentioning just how

she has had a courage,

but he wasn`t brave or hadn`t mature

or maybe - His vision was blurred.

And conclusion still is laying on me,

if I need anything to conclude.

you are amazing. I read your poems over and over and come to new meanings with every reading. They all give us pause for thought and are a true bearing of your inner thoughts.

Nick G pointed it out and Sara too! Poetry has a way of unifying the physical and the metaphysical. The Horsie and the Birdie Ballad is a supreme example!

FLYING WITHOUT WINGS?

Thank you Adelina - it`s great and I like it very much!

You can see - this month I am busier than ever. I have had some planes for my so needed vacations.

But, I don`t have time to sit at the table and enjoy any normal meal.

VIVA FAST FOODS!!!!

L O L, it is not poetic, but it is very useful. And very first time in my life to say something in favor of fast food.

I really apologize for being so behind with my responses.

Always so busy with adding new, amazing colors to my Dearest Tree, I was thinking about all of you, sanding out many blessings and thoughts of appreciation and my sincere gratitude.

Sara, thanks for your so warm words for my adolescent. At our Railway Station, there are some new sections and we don`t match our directions so often. What does that mean? Am I aging too fast, or Luka just imagines that?

I want to say I agree with what you say in your opening regarding poetry being a bridge between the physical and metaphysical worlds. You give a good example of both as well. Painting (physic) music (metaphysical). All art blends the two and acts in some way to connect us from one to the other. Poetry from my own experience in writing comes from some other worldly source, through you and onto paper.

I have finally learned not to try to direct it, edit it, or judge it, just let in flow out.

I also want to thank you for both poems. I like "Journey" because it is like a bio written in verse. I can see similar experiences in your journey to my journey.

The second poem is one of those gifts. Love it.

Your way with words is just incredible. I drink so seldom, but after reading this, I feel as I just have finished a bottle of amazing vine.

Once, I tried to stop one great love that was knocking on the doors. Suffering so much, having very unpleasant dialogs with my ego and several personality identities, with my expectations and planes :) ... I wished to see it leaving my space. I thought it`s not time and place for it. The way it was born was so unusual. All my conditions were against it.

Thanks for this so nice feature and for all your words about me.

You are so busy to give us, each month, a ticket to a new Universe which some of us gathered here, have created.

Poetry is so creative and so powerful way to be ,in the same moment, so close and so far from ourselves and from others.

Creating this forum, you have made a great possibility for our dreams and insights to come in touch. Thanks for doing that!

These two poems of mine were written for this feature, because I wasn`t able to translate my already written poetry in English. I think that writing poetry is one kind of talent, but translating is another. And luck of this second talent, forced me to write directly :) ...

I like English language very much, it is so poetic. My native is also poetic, but spirit of Serbian and spirit of English are too far away to be comfortable for a laymen in ANY, and specially in poetic translating issues :) .

It`s great to be here in month when Americans celebrate Independence! My nation is celebrating something almost each day. We are so endemic sort world wide because of that. In our long lasting history, you can find only warships and celebrations. Funny but true ! Serbian warriors always were dying singing :) (like Australian birds :) ) ...

Strange and rare people we are. I wish to see you one day here. Beautiful country with specific customs and habits.
